About the practice

A modern practice that puts down roots in Frankfort

WillowMed is a new-generation general practice: three GPs, a dietitian and a physiotherapist under one roof, paperless from day one, built by owners who wanted to do things a better way.

Why the practice exists

[CONFIRM: the founding story in the owners' own words.] WillowMed was started by two local doctors who wanted to practise differently: fewer forms, more time in the room, and a building where a patient could see a GP, a dietitian and a physiotherapist without driving to another town.

Paperless, on purpose

Records, results, prescriptions and referrals are digital from the moment you arrive. It means less repeating yourself, faster repeats, and a doctor who can see your full history in the consultation rather than hunting for a file.

Care for the whole family

Newborn checks, school-age illness, pregnancy questions, adult screening, chronic medicine and care for older patients — one practice that knows the whole household, in Afrikaans and English.

WillowMed is owned by Dr Ismarie Oosthuizen and Dr Leané Steyn. Practice No. MP0867411 · BHF No. 1272772.

Our values

What guides the way we work

Four commitments we hold ourselves to, in the room and everywhere else the practice shows up.

Care that listens

We meet people as people first, in their own language, and take the time to explain.

Modern, done properly

Technology and design in service of better care, never for show.

Honest and compliant

We say what is true, stay well inside the rules, and never overpromise.

In it for the long run

Building something that lasts, for the town and for the practice both.

Rooted in the town

Frankfort is home, not a stop along the way

The practice was built here by doctors who chose to stay. That shows up in small things: consulting in the language you are most comfortable in, knowing the schools and the farms, and being reachable when a family needs us.
